I have always loved traditional Succulent Terrariums with several different plants, soil and beige sand. They add some coziness and warmth to the place you put it at. However, when I first saw Zebra plant (Haworthia), I could not match it with any other plant. I wanted to make it central, I wanted it to stand out. 

That's how I came up with Minimalistic DIY Kit.

For this DIY you will need:

• Succulent Soil. You may get special one in the store or get regular one and add some sand to it. That's way it will drain easily.
• White Sand
• White Rocks
• Succulent
• Terrarium
• Spoon and stick

               

Step 1. Sand

Put sand on the bottom of the terrarium. You may use spoon to straight out the layer, however it will be easier to just shake slightly the terrarium and let gravity make it for you. 

You may switch up and put rocks first, however sand on the bottom is not only for good look, it also drains extra water. Yes, succulent roots do not like a lot of water and will appreciate if the soil is dry.

Step 2. Soil

Add a little bit of soil, so it covers the sand. Flatten it with the spoon or other instrument. Do not try to shake the terrarium this time, because it will mix all together and it's pretty hard to separate sand from soil. Trust me :)

Step 3. Plant

Put your succulent in the center and cover the roots with the soil. Gently hold the plant with your hand, so it doesn't fall or move from the center. Flatten out soil layer with the spoon.

Step 4. Rocks

Finally, put rocks in the terrarium. You may use chopsticks to clean up the rocks that fall on your plant.
